ACT TOOLS AND TACTICS
The ACT is another standardized test nationally recognized by college admissions offices. We understand that some students prefer this test or wish to supplement their SAT scores, and thus decided to add this service to our programs. Our course is designed around material specific to the ACT, but operates under the same model as our other preparation classes.
The course is geared toward Sophomores and Juniors and is designed to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the ACT, including the new Essay portion. We aim to equip students with the necessary tools and techniques that will help them understand and master each section of the exam. Our instructors have all scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT and have a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
The ACT Tools and Tactics course emphasizes analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, pattern recognition, data interpretation, advanced mathematics, and persuasive writing development. In addition, students will learn useful test-taking strategies that will immediately improve their scores and optimize their test-day performance. Each class is limited to 12 students and provides over 60 hours of instruction along with 6 hours of 1-on-1 tutoring. All students will be asked to take a diagnostic test before starting the course to determine their placement. Students will also take 2 full-length practice tests before their scheduled test date.
Our students boast an average increase of 4 composite points per session (out of 36). This improvement is conditional on the student completing all reading assignments, weekly writing prompts, practice drills, and problem sets over the duration of the course.
